Final theory test

Learner drivers must pass the Final Theory Test (FTT) after passing the Basic Theory Test (BTT) in order to obtain a Provisional Driving Licence (PDL) which will allow them to drive on public roads with a qualified driving instructor as an “L” Plate learner driver.

BTT is conducted by the Singapore Traffic Police at any of the driving centres – Bukit Batok Driving Centre (BBDC), ComfortDelgro Driving Centre (CDC) and Singapore Safety Driving Centre (SSDC).

Test Format

There are 50 multiple choice questions (MCQ) with 3 options for each question. The time limit for the test is 50 minutes. The passing score is 90% i.e. candidates must answer at least 45 questions correctly.

The test is computerised and is offered in four languages – English, Chinese, Malay or Tamil. In the computerised test environment, candidates take the test using touch-screen terminals and they will get their test results instantly upon completing the test.
